Welcome to our corner of paradise

The Friends of the Helderberg Nature Reserve is situated in Somerset West on the slopes of the beautiful Helderberg Mountain overlooking False Bay, 

Teeming with life,  it’s a perfect exploring ground for young and old and offers a true break-away from the city rush.

What to do at Helderberg Nature Reserve

Explore the best our Nature Reserve has to offer:

Nature Walks

There are several walks in the Reserve, ranging from 2.2km to a 7 hour hike.

Picnic Spots

Bring your picnic basket!  Regretably no braai or gas burning equipment allowed.

Fauna & Flora

The rich natural environment is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life.

Visitors Centre

Open 7 days a week. Visit our gift shop,
apply for annual membership.

Events

We host regular nature walks and hikes,
the popular “Concerts in the Park”
and our newly “Helderberg Book Festival” events.

Restaurant

The restaurant is closed until further notice.
